I’m glad you could restore your project. Have you trashed prefs & repaired permissions? If not, it’d be a good idea to do so. Also, run Disk Warrior. I do that at least once a month as preventive maintenance.

I believe that box connects via Firewire. Have you any other FW device connected? If so, try unplugging everything from the FW buss except the 110 and see if that changes anything. Also in FCP, check View Menu > External Video > All Frames is selected.

If you didn’t use Frame Controls in Compressor, turn them on and choose the highest quality settings. This will take a while, but hopefully, improve the image.

You’ve got two very different formats. My suggestion is to edit in HD and uprez the DV footage using Compressor. There’s plenty of discussions how to do that if you search the Cow. I’ve never edited with XDCAM before so I don’t know the recommended workflow.

Do you see the actual edited clips in the timeline, but there’s no video output? Or are the video tracks in the timeline empty? Describe your system-computer, OS, version FCP, graphics card, i/o device or card, etc. How do you monitor the video?

We have 2 FCP workstations so we output down-converted HD using our Kona card from one via sdi and record it on the other. Or, export the HD program to a QT file (Using Current Settings) and use Compressor to down-convert. There are lots of discussions on the Cow about the workflow. Just search.
