Artifacts when changing camera
so i just finished exporting a theatre show from compressor, only problem is that there are tons of artifacts every time camera changes from an hdv camera to a dvcprohd camera. Anybody know of any fixes to this or is it just doomed to be like that?

What are the settings you’re exporting to? In my experience, compressing HDV has always led to artifacts, probably because it uses Long GOP compression.
I’m not sure what others around here do, but when if I have HDV footage I convert it to ProRes first to get out of Long GOP compression.
Since you’re done with your project, you probably don’t want to take the time to convert all your HDV, so I’d set your timeline compressor to ProRes or DVCPro HD since that’s an i-frame codec too. Then re-render your timeline, take it into compressor, then export.

If you didn’t use Frame Controls in Compressor, turn them on and choose the highest quality settings. This will take a while, but hopefully, improve the image.
