    Hi,
I need to know the correct work flow in a project with 2 different format, which is: DV-PAL 720*576 25fps and HD XDcam 1920*1080i50 25fps
Some say that I have to convert everything to prorez befor start editing. some say – don’t convert.
what kind of sequence setting I should use?
should I export everything as PAL or HD?
The end product should be a 50 min movie, on a regular DVD (for home use).
    So many questions….

I’ll be happy to know the correct work flow for projects like this.

    Thanx,
    Michal

You’ve got two very different formats. My suggestion is to edit in HD and uprez the DV footage using Compressor. There’s plenty of discussions how to do that if you search the Cow. I’ve never edited with XDCAM before so I don’t know the recommended workflow.

    Hi John,

thank you for your quick answer.
I know those are 2 complitly different formats, and actually I believe that this is how hell looks…
anyway, if I want to uprez the DV stuff with compressor, do you know the setting I should use?

Checkout this thread. You’ll find more info if you search for uprez HD or similar.
