  • Lost clip names, replaced with ‘whoosh’?

Currently having an issue with FCP 7.
Recently during an edit, it removed all clip names in the timeline (only in the timeline), when telling it to ‘show video clip names’ it named every clip ‘whoosh’.
When right clicking and selecting ‘reconnect media’, it shows you the actual name of the clip. So, it knows the real name but for some reason everything is still named whoosh.

Also, when exporting an EDL or XML, the clips names are, again, fine.

This is causing a problem as we need to conform and offline.

    Any ideas??

If you edited a portion of a long clip to the timeline and renamed it Whoosh, all clips derived from that longer clip would also be renamed, unless you made Whoosh an Independent Clip.
