I don’t remember if I’ve done this with a generator, but it has worked with transitions and titles. If after I’ve added one to a timeline and then go back into Motion to tweak it after I save it with the same name, the tweak shows up in FCP.

In the browser click on “Name” at the top of the Name column. Each time you click the sort order will be reversed A to Z then Z to A or vice-versa.

I think I’ve seen other iPhone templates. Maybe PremiumVFX or Pixel Film Studios. Look in FxFactory, too, for others besides OSM.

March 10, 2021 at 5:29 am in reply to: Using iZotope RX to level audio volume

I use Waves Vocal Rider for leveling in Pro Tools. It has a slow and fast mode. I usually use slow, but fast might be better for your need. If there’s noise under the voices, try one of iZotope’s noise reduction modules. Dialog Isolate is very good. Hearing the noise go up & down makes the leveling more noticeable. Removing the noise might help.

  • Happy to help. The program is DiscCatalogMaker. I recall it may have come along with a version of Toast which I used at times with CDs & DVDS. It currently runs on an old Mac Pro using El Capitan. I don’t know if it will run with newer OSs. I’ve seen similar programs discussed recently, but have no memory of their names. Maybe a search would turn up options.

  • I have an old database program (early 2000s) that copies what’s on any drive I point it to. Makes keeping track easy. But, your question made me wonder. So I looked in a Final Cut Backup file (in the Movie Folder on my machine) and there is a link to the archive drive I used.

Open the .fcpbundle with Show Package Contents and look for __BackupInfo.plist. Open that with a text editor and at the bottom (if it works like mine) you should see what’s below.

I’m no expert, but here’s what I think. You track the motion of the hand to a null object. Then you parent the position parameters of the null (which has the tracking data) to the carousel.

    See this tutorial: https://youtu.be/wxhW85Kbvuw

Hope this helps or at least points you in the right direction.

By linearly I think he means the man on the bike goes in a straight line down the hill but still ends up back at home.

When he leaves the house he rides downhill past a welder, a guy fixing a van, the corner with kids playing basketball, people by a car then he stops at the store. He gets his beer, hops on his bike, and continues in the same direction. Again, he rides downhill and passes in reverse order, the kids playing basketball, the people by the car, the welder and van fixer and arrives at the house from the opposite direction he left.

  • Thanks. I’ll look for that.
