Is there a way to modify a Final Cut/Motion generator that has already been put in the timeline? I have customized a generator in Motion, brought into the timeline in FCP, and made changes to it there. Found a spelling error that needs to be changed in Motion but don’t want to have to redo everything in FCP. Wondering if it can sync. Kind of like linked files with Photoshop and Illustrator? Thx.

I don’t remember if I’ve done this with a generator, but it has worked with transitions and titles. If after I’ve added one to a timeline and then go back into Motion to tweak it after I save it with the same name, the tweak shows up in FCP.

Who would’ve known just “save” would do it. 🙂 It worked…although, something is definitely messed up between Motion and FCPX with this generator. When I click save, it goes thru the motions and then gives me a notification saying “unable to share ‘untitled”” … the Motion project has a name. So, not sure. But after I closed both Motion and FCPX, the change showed up in FCPX. Thx so much.
