    Thanks Sean.

That didnt seem to do the trick either.

Update though! I can get it to work with other footage in my project. I can’t figure out though what the difference is that it makes it work for one item and not the other.

The footage it is working for is HDV stuff, whereas the footage that it cant work for is footage I used captured directly from VHS. I can’t imagine that makes a difference though.

Thank you very much for the advice.

This is actually much more about time and our workflow than about hard drive space. For reasons I dont have space to go into, if we can’t get it working, it actually means significantly more work in the capturing phase. So I’d rather take the time now to get it.

Anyone out there have similar experience, success, advice?

I went back to my machine with FCP 5 and it did what I wanted to no problem.

Cool… thanks everyone for he help! That codec actually looks pretty useful, and honestly- for what I was going through that price-point wouldn’t have been a hesitation.

Fortunately I figured it out easily enough. Turns out you can just drag your codecs from the QT library into the QT library on another machine. The files open without problem.

Thanks again for the help all.

    Sorry,

By “Track Text,” I meant change the tracking of the text. Thanks!

    Hi

Thanks for the tip. Forgot to mention that the animation is in 3D. The pipe doesnt necessarily need to pulsate in 3d, but the layer needs to be in 3d space. For some reason mesh warp doesnt seem to work in 3d space.

Anyone have any other thoughts, or have advice on getting mesh warp to work in 3d–is it just a matter of precomping?

    Thanks!

Just to give some idea–I have tried seemingly everything and I havent been able to locate the problem. If I turn my comp to 8-bit, I still have the same problem. If I jsut export one of these text “galaxies” I have the same problem. I have played around with settings in the secret menu too.

All this makes me believe that it does not have to do with how intense the processing of each frame must be, but something else. What that is I have no idea, but I’m hoping someone out there might.

    Thank you all again.

I appreciate the help, but thats not it either. Im pretty sure all the effects are 32 bpc, but either way, some of the 32 bit material gets out, so that can’t be the problem.

Yeah, its pretty weird….too bad its also driving me nuts. Any other thoughts out there? Again I appreciate the help immensely.

    Hi David

Thank you for the reply. What do you mean a custom view? It’s definitely on “Active Camera” in the view choice at the bottom of the comp panel, if that’s where you’re referring too.

Also, I am able to render out the image when I do it as just one still image. It just won’t work when I do it as an image sequence.

Let me know if that answers your question and if you have any other thoughts. I appreciate the help immensely.

    Thanks again

OK, I think I got it set for now. Much appreciation to all, will likely repost my “extra credit” query if I can’t figure it out after some work.

    Thanks again!
