I would do this using the Text animators and Range Selectors. Take a look in the Help for these things, there are a bunch of mini-tutorials that will set you in the right direction.

I just tested that address and it seems to work fine for me…
At the moment, I teach the Broadcast After Effects course here in Australia, usually as a one-on-one or to small groups either at my home or my client’s workplace. The course fee is $1200 for one-on-one, and the price for groups depends on how many attendees. I work full-time so usually teach one or two courses a month. The DVD contains the course files but it’s not a video tutorial, sorry.regards,

If I understand you correctly, you need to switch on Continuously Rasterize for the Illustrator layer in the precomp AND the 3D precomp in the Main comp, not just the precomp.

Not Enough Memory errors can be caused by corrupt fonts. Try removing some fonts and see if you still have this problem. You may also like to do a search in the archives re: memory errors.

Forgive me if this is obvious. When you precomposed did you choose the “Move All Attributes” option. By default when you precompose a single layer, the “Leave All Attributes” option is selected and this will leave the 3D Invigorator effect inside the main comp (not move it to the precomp).
