You would definitely want to use the studio version, and probably have a steep learning curve ahead of you, might want to check out the Cinema4D forum at the cow also.

You use the track mattes(F4 to access) to create stencils. On the top layer, you mask the areas you want to show through, place a layer below that is to be used to accent, then change that layers track matte to “alpha matte”.
You may have to duplicate & place the original video layer on the bottom. If you do that, you might want to play with the transfer modes of the “highlight” layer.

You need to go to File > Project settings and make sure you working in the same color space as you are in Photoshop. Photoshops color settings are located under the “Edit” drop down.

When they were in the original composition, your background layer(solid with a ramp) was in the same 3D space as your letters. Joseph was suggesting moving the background farther back along the Z axis so the it wouldn’t cut off the letters. Use the custom view settings(under the comp window) and you will get a better idea of what is happening.

Duplicate the clip and remove the rotoscope from the bottom clip, then set the bottom clips track matte to “alpha invert”

It looks like a split flip display. I’ve seen a few templates for doing it with text. Basically, those templates have created a split/flip for each letter number, which if you want to do it with images, you will have to create 1 for each image you would like to flip.

During preview, you are viewing your block transition at half resolution. AE is using half as many pixels. Bump your resolution to “Full”, then adjust your block transition. I’m guessing that a transition height/width of 1 is too small for your final output.

I’ve tried that a bunch of ways, short answer, no in DVD’s you will always get that hiccup as it finds the information.
