I like to use old paper textured combined with a subtle gradient.

How did you make your 3d logo, with 3D render in AE, or is it from another program?

You could try searching through the AE preferences file, see if the path info is located there.

Change your keyframes(right click on the keyframe and chose Keyframe interpolation) to linear. You have one of the bezier types and AE will automatically add ease in and outs which is adding the movement to your objects.

    Check out Keyframe interpolation Help

  • To post an image directly in your post, use the third to last icon above the reply box. Upload the image. When it’s uploaded select the image, then copy the “embed” code and paste it into your post.

As to why your logo is jumping, you need to twirl open the logo(press UU), so we can see what effects, transformations, ect. you’ve applied to it. I can see an FX is enabled, but without knowing what it is, it’s hard to diagnose what could be happening.

Add a Slider Control effect to the Null object, then just pick whip the child objects opacity(alt-click opacity stopwatch to enable expression) to the slider.

Well, you could move the other pics out of the folder, replace the file, then move the pics back into the folder.

It sounds like you are going about this the correct way. Precomping could help, but it will add cause some issues where the precomp space won’t equal the final comp space. You could work around that, but probably not worth the hassle.

The 3D tools in the CC version really wouldn’t offer you much more than you have now for this particular project.

You pretty much nailed the technique, that’s exactly how you do it. If you google “kid stays in the picture” tutorial or 2.5d tutorial, you will find a lot of videos that go into this technique.
