In Avid, you can select all the pictures at once if they have a number sequence, open up the options and check the autodetect seq and change the still duration to 1, 2 seconds.

Years ago I had to do something similiar, brough the files into avid using and then used a time effect to speed it up quite a bit as 1 second is just way too long for stop motion.

If you have a seq files. I would probably bring them into AE(also can do make them into one file during import) and work with it in there. Probably turn on frame blending. Just a little easier to work with photos in AE.

Not sure I understand why it’s happening, but I changed your “Light behind” to a spot light and the problem went away.

As I wasn’t changing computers, I grabbed my plugins and scripts and just copied them into the new folders and that was it. Didn’t have to reinstall anything.

Not sure about workspaces and keyboard shortcuts, guess you could locate the preferences file and move that accordingly and see if it works.

At our facility we have had to do some very techinical screen captures with approved scripts. We’ve found in that recording that audio, then playing it back and following along to that that audio works pretty good.

Often a section of audio will be quicker then the action, so we just stop the audio, then start again when we are caught up.

Finally audio and screen captures(usually more than 1) are all put into an editor and cut together. Now if you are just doing something for the Cow, I think you could be quite a bit less formal.

Anyway, it’s an alternative way of approaching the project.

For splatters I just use the ones I bought at VideoCoPilot. As far as plugins go, you could probably create splatters with Particular or ParticleIllusion, but both would set you back a lot more than buying some stock footage.

Drag your finished 1080P comp to the “make new comp button” at the bottom of the project panel. Open your new comp, and hit “cntl + K” and change the settings to a 720P comp.

Now you should have one layer in your new comp that is cut off, scale that layer to fit your new composition and you should be good to go.

As far as I know, the answer is to import the footage into Avid that you want to add effects. You can also do a video mixdown to selected clips. Transcoding the footage will also work…

AMA works real well in some situations and not so great in others.

Actually it would be very easy to do in Photoshop. I’m not familiar with using Photoshop with video files or animations, so I would first bring the file into AE and create a tif sequence.

Now create an action in photoshop with the magic wand. Find some place in your sequence that doesn’t have the animation(say in one of the corners), choose that area, hit delete and you should be good to go.

If it happens that the animation drifts into your seletion area, you may need to repeat the process a few times.
