  • Your workflow is correct, but match frame only works if everything remains in the same project. For instance, I’ve never been able to match frame to shots if they were logged into a different project. I don’t think XML or anything else is going to help you on this.

Turn off all the overlays in the Canvas window, that will throw off your output when you’re parked on a still. Also, don’t be afraid of the Broadcast Safe filter. Correct as you would normally with the 3-way, then add the Broadcast Safe filter to stay on the safe side.

Like Walter, I’m transitioning to Final Touch, great program, but for simple stuff, FCPs filters work well.

  • I have seen this occasionally on my G5 with a Dual link Decklink HD capturing SDI standard def. In my case, I only see it when I am capturing from a Sony 1500 DV deck via SDI. Mostly I capture from a Sony Digi Beta deck and haven’t seen the problem with that deck.

    Hey Bob

I actually do have a blackburst generator, but I just haven’t seen a need to use it. I agree, the multibridge studio will rock, especially the tri-level part of the sync gen.

Like I said in my previous post, just make sure the Out Ref switch on the Digibeta is set to Input Video. I output hour-long shows to Digibeta without any sync issues.

A blackburst generator is nice to have, especially if you have lots of gear to sync up, but it’s not necessary.

I’ve been running my decklink systems for 2 years, without genlock. If the deck is properly configured you don’t need blackburst.

Make sure you set the Out Ref switch on the Digibeta to Input Video. That should take care of the problem.

Can’t speak for the Multibridge, but if it works like the decklink cards, you need to have video present for the card to capture audio. Try running blackburst to the composite input on the Multibridge.

Don’t know if this would work, but, how about making an alias of the other drives onto the boot drive and trying firewire target mode again?
