    1. The G5 is so dead.
    2. The Intel Macintosh completely screams.
    3. You can blame everything on your IT department. (No that they give a rat’s butt.)
    4. The future is just around the corner and will be here any day now. (I hear this every year.)
    5. Dozens of formerly PC-only hardware and software mfrs were telling us that their universal binary version for Mac OS10 will soon be available.
    6. The battle between Real, Quicktime and Window Media has finally ended and the winner is Flash Video.
    7. We are all dinosaurs.

    1) RED IS HERE…only not yet.

    2) 24p JVC and 24f for Canon HDV works natively on a MAC…only not yet.

    3) The HVX-200 camera and P2 cards are EXPENSIVE. But that is the same complaint from the time they came out…NINE MONTHS after they were announced.

    4) Jerry Hofmann is shorter than I expected. But funner than I expected.

    5) Avid is STILL more expensive than a comparable FCP system. While a $22k FCP system will get you 2K HD support, $22k Avid will get you software and the Adrenaline box. No computer…no drives…no RAM…no monitor. The $22k for FCP includes most of that.

    6) STAR TREK THE EXPERIENCE…the Borg ride…has metal rods that poke your seat where you never wanted to be poked. But it was still cool.

    7) The hotels are really FAR APART. It may look like it is right there, but that is because it is so huge.

What is flash video, and how does it differ from QT?

Why do we all believe that what is yet to come is far better than what we now have. I am very glad the MacBook Pro is GREAT! I still love my Quad G5 and the fact that it is working today!

If the Intel binaries version of MacOS X is NOT currently available; what are the iMac’s and MacBooks running on?

    1. I *so* want a MacBook Pro

    2. I don’t know nearly enough about Photoshop CS2

    3. Standard Def really, really sucks

    4. Despite what people tell you, always take insurance on your BlackJack when dealer is showing an Ace

    5. The Riviera is a very advantageous place to stay for NAB

    6. After the first couple, $6 for a Heinekin really doesn’t seem all that obscene

Apple has OS X 10.4.6 downloads on their support site for the Intel machines…I guess that’s what they’re running on…

“Flash Video” is video in Flash, really. I wouldn’t say it “kicks QuickTime and Windows Medias As”, but it could. Adobe just need to create a NORMAL VIDEO PLAYER and they’ll be competing head to head with a major plus:

Basically every browser in the world has flash.

I must say, however, flash 8 quite demanding on the system. As it is now flash 8 fills a different need than QT and Windows Media. Real I’d say is quite dead.

    1. Avid Liquid (top end) and MC Soft with Mojo SDI are the same price. Does anyone else find this a vdery odd marketing strategy? Can I do a wedding video with MC Soft?

    2. 30 minute Motion class was too short but very cool.

    3. If you don’t specify, you will always get call brands in your drink.

    4. Was it my bad memory or was the Vegas tram much more expensive this year.

    5. I will buy Final Touch.

    1. Matrox MXO was really impressive.
    2. P2 card does not work in Intel Macs… yet.
    3. Wear REALLY comfortable shoes.
    4. What Tony Romas lack in ambience, it more than makes up with it’s ribs.
    5. Fusion ROCKS! Just not for Apple.

In the bottom of my suitcase I found a ticket from last year, $3 for the monorail vs. $5 this year
