You should be fine. We used to do French Canadian spots here all the time and there never was an accent mark that came up that wasn’t a regular mac shortcut.

Correct. Stay in HD, let the person with the Kona do the center-punch downconversion. Just be sure to create your graphics with a center punch in mind.

Use the pen tool on the layer itself. Make sure you have clip overlays turned on. (Option W)

by Steven Gonzales on Jun 20, 2005 at 10:24:23 amIf you need to change a bunch of quicktimes, you can use the free utility Sebsky tools.
Export a batch list from final cut, bring that in to Cinema Tools, tag all those files with the timecode you want in cinema tools, make sure the Cinema Tools records have the right file names to match your quicktime files, then export an ALE (avid log exchange) file.
Then you can use Sebsky tools, point it to the folder full of quicktimes, point it to the ALE file with the files names and new timecode which you exported from Cinema tools, and batch it all.

We are back to WHY you would need to have you QT’s have a specific TC. If you need a visual reference so that someone can go through and mark shots, subtitle, whatever, just use the generators in FCP to overlay the current TC on an upper video track and make your QT from that. I don’t see why that wouldn’t solve the problem.

Also if you have it you can easily do it with BCC layer deformer, using the shatter option on a plane with your logo as the texture layer.

Personally I like the speed of it. I guess there are always newbies who will get annoyed by it, but there’s always the pause button. Better than too slow in my opinion.

To clarify. Work in 1920 x 1080 (16×9). If the client wants 720p you can scale down to that (16×9). If the client wants Standard Def, you have 3 options. 4×3 letterbox, 4×3 center punch (you can pan/scan that if needed), or 16×9 anamorphic.
