French Accents

You should be fine. We used to do French Canadian spots here all the time and there never was an accent mark that came up that wasn’t a regular mac shortcut.

Any good font will include accented versions of the letters.

Here’s a support doc for adding accents to characters on Mac OS X; here’s one for adding accents to characters on Windows XP and later.

Just a note with French — the accent aigu and the accent grave look similar, but have different uses, so take care when transcribing.

I found it best to get a text doc from the localization service, allowing me to cut and paste the text into AE. It’s faster that way, and there are no concerns about capitalization and such.

I like that idea. We have an office in Montreal so I’ll see if they can do all the graphics up as word docs.
