No dice. Actually prores is worse. And I’ve just now isolated it to FCP. Plays fine in QT.

    Bye, bye AE forum!
    Thanks

    Hi Dave,
Thanks for the speedy response. I will give prores a shot. I’m not trying to toot 10 Bit 4:2:2’s horn by any means, but we’ve been using it for about 3 years now with no major hiccups. Actually this is the first.
    Wish me luck,
    Joey

Sweet. Sorry Dave! I’ve just read this forum daily for years, and I notice you’ve become a little cynical lately.

    A little off topic but…
Is AE that good at HD to NTSC downconversions? I agree with you that he should create HD first, but is it as simple as dropping an HD comp into an NTSC one?

Well, I would think one solution would be to just go to edit>split layer wherever you want the jump to start. Then just trim in the new top layer however many frames you want it to jump.

    Hi There,
I have basically the same system as you. I could be wrong about this, but as far as I know each core uses 1 gig when multiprocessing. So you need to adjust your percentage of use to a number that gets you less that 1 g. Mine is set to %30.
BUT, I have found that for simple renders it is much better to keep multiprocessing off. It takes longer just for it to fire up all the cores than the initial render would have taken in the first place.
    Good luck,
    Joey
