If your working in NTSC D1, you shouldn’t have any problems just exporting simple pings, tiffs or targas?

I don’t know about the other monitors, but we have 4 Panasonic BT-LH1700W’s here and they are awesome. Under 4k and color is spot on. We supply tv spots for movies on Digi and D5 and have never had any problems with color grading on these.

If you’re going to go the prores route, check this out:

Going out to HDCAM isn’t possible unless you have a KONA, BlackMagic, V3HD or IO box to connect to the HDCAM deck – and you’d have to either rent or own an HDCAM deck.

That’s from another forum. I didn’t realize you could go to an HDCam deck without your footage being uncompressed….

Which version of AE are you using? This was a big problem in 6.5, not sure about 7. 8 has sorted it out.

For TC. Hit TC/CHR (I think, I’m not at the machine) F1 until you hit internal F2 to preset.

For Video. Hit Video in, change to INT signal, change INT signal to Black Burst (F2 menu)

Now if you go to your home screen you can manually punch in TC (so you can just hit 00:58:00:00 (or whatever you want to start at) hit ENTER afterward.

Rewind and REC/PLAY

Should work fine.

Or if you are using FCP you can set the machine to INT / AUTO and FCP will stripe for you without you having to change the machine around.

As for insert editing, your best bet is to read the manual…

Really, really great for the price. Yes, they’re upwards of 3k, but welcome to the world of HD. Now if you’re talking about HDV, don’t bother. HDV is really just anamorphic SD in my book.

I’ve never heard of that problem, but the workaround is just to lay out your video and audio in your NLE and go from there…
