What version of Squeeze and which Avid product/version are you using?

Don’t know what this problem may be, but you can uninstall the Mojo, reboot, then reconnect and let Windows find the Mojo again. Let Windows reinstall the software for Mojo and see if that fixes the problem.

Or have the actual administrator delete the files for you. I think if you were to delete these two little files, you might just be OK.

Carlos,
First, I would suggest that you use the HDV codec as an acquisition codec and not for editing and distribution. Sounds like you are thinking the same way. You may want to transcode to DNxHD if you have lots of layers or heavy rendering. DNxHD is a terrific mastering codec; you should not lose any quality going this way. If everything is just cuts and dissolves, maybe just worry about getting out of HDV at mastering time.
Personally, I would not downconvert until the very last step. Keep your footage, your elements and your edit at as high a resolution as the original quality dictates.
And as for PCs, I would definately go for one of the approved systems listed here:

Try deleting the database files. Letting Avid recreate these for you may allow the software to recognize the files again.

Which version of Avid are you using?
The later versions with FluidFilm (Effects/Timewarp/FluidFilm Progressive) will give you exactly what you are looking for. I had a 24p project, shot on the DVX100A, that needed a few insert shots. The person who shot it for me forgot to enable 24p, so I took the 60i shots and applied FulidFilm to them. Very hard to tell any difference.

Don’t forget to delete the databases…it might just help with the “Media Offline” you are seeing.
