I beg to differ as it really is a Vegas issue. It highlights the intuitiveness of Vegas as opposed to FCP. I’ve come to this forum many times for help for other issues that are not specifically Vegas but are applicable. This post serves is a useful tool for those who are deciding on which platform to edit. Let them make the choice but let’s hear from the users of both who can share what the real world comparisons are.

On your sub menu buttons have you already defined the action for them under properties? Have you also set the button order for that page? Make sure that you have show navigation and button masks display options selected under the views menu/workspace overlays.
If you created your sub menus by clicking on the main menu and selecting Insert Menu it will automatically create and arrow and it will be masked. Check these basic steps and let me know id I understood your problem

You can add all the FX you want to one of those clips and then save them as a preset. Just keep adding one after the other and you’ll see the chain grow. Then you the copy and paste attributes to the clips you want after selecting them all. One caveat however, any differences in cropping will be lost as that is one of the attributes being copied. The other method is to move them to a different track and apply a track effect as opposed to individual clips. I’m sure there are other ways but that is what comes to mind.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve searched around and am very leary of the low end offers. It looks like a minimum of a 1000 for the 500 gig.

Seems to be contagious.
My WD 500 ext drive logic board died after I incorrectly plugged in the wrong adapter. I wish they made it harder to do that but other than sending it off to be recovered at a facility to the tune of an average of $1000 plus. Not a great way to start the year.

Everyone’s tool box is laid out a little differently and it is always good to take a look at how someone else does it. This forum is by far the best tool in my box.

The only hitch with using the Copy Media function is that you will lose all of your folder structure as it will copy all of the media to the same folder. Not really a great option.

Excellent suggestions….I use one main folder for my new projects then create sub folders for everything. Everything is stored in one place including DVDA files and any other software I may be using. This way it is much easier to backup a whole project and maintain all the pieces in one area. A little work now really pays off later on.
