You wont find any help within the program for what Mike is telling you. Creating a Master folder now certainly wont help you find the files you are looking for. Do a system search for all files with an ending of veg. It would look like this… *.veg
It will return any and all files that have that extension so you should find yours. Now if you do locate it the next problem you will have is locating all the files it will need. Hopefully you have not moved or deleted them. If you have moved them it will tell you which files it is looking for and where it expected to find them. You’ll have to search for every one of those and tell it where the new one resides. If you have deleted them you will need to reload them. That is why Mike’s tip is so very vital to avoid these problem later. Hope this helps

Window XP comes standard with media player and that should not be an issue. Surely they have a DVD player they can avail themselves and software beyond what they are telling you. Ask them…they are the best source.

February 15, 2010 at 4:47 am in reply to: transfer working files from desktop to notebook for portable editing. What you need to do is to have all of your project files all in one folder and not scattered from many sources. Then all you have to do is copy that file to whatever system you are working on and you will not have a problem. Vegas may prompt you for the location of files but it will tell you where it recorded the file to be so all you have to do is navigate to that location and select the file. Any other media from that folder will also be found.
Your media is offline most likely because Vegas does not know where to find the source files. If you strive to keep all of your folders in a clear concise format you will save yourself a lot of headaches later on. You can always use the Save media with project option but all that does is copy all of your media into one location and you will lose any folder structure you may have. It is not a good function to use. Hope this helps.

Sorry gents it was my error when I posted this here and was unable to delete the post. It was meant for another forum where the software author is a Cow Leader.

Works now for me…actually it has been like this for a while and thought perhaps you were already aware of it so I did not write. Glad it is up.

I did send off and email as well. Do I receive a separate activation code in addition to the one that is included in the link to download the file?

I found out that I needed to download the XDCAM explorer from Sony and use that to convert the native files to MXF for NLE. You navigate to the folder and select all the clips to be batch processed. It works well from what I see and it would have saved me a lot of time had I known this before. LIve and learn.

I did just install XVID and did a restart and it does not show up in GSPOT, It reports the status as Undetermined.

No John it did not show I had the codec installed. What is odd is I have another file same exact report from GSpot and that one will import. It is a much smaller file however. Where do you recommend installing XVID?
On another note relating to the EX1 native format problem mentioned in a prior post. It writes to SMS cards that are MPG4 and must be converted using XDCAM explorer to MXF format. I have those native files but cannot find a way to convert them with anything I have here. So my only option that I see now is to put those files back into the camera and capture them on my system. It has been one of those weeks.
