Hi Blake,
This one has worked fine for me:

Just a note, and this really only applies if you dumping large amounts of data from one drive to another – if you have any peripherals that aren’t drives plugged into your hub your throughput will be cut in half, so if you’re not capturing with a deck or camera or don’t need to have a deck or camera plugged in for an external view unplug it. Your transfers will be much quicker.
After buying 20 or so enclosures I stopped. It got nuts just like your situation. I just bought drives and put them in and out of quick loading enclosures. When PATA switched to SATA I started using one of these at each suite:

Ackkk. Been there. I got so tired of trying to keep them all accessible I numbered them, cataloged them with DiskCatalogMaker ( https://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA008942/library/diskcatalogmaker ) and put them on a shelf. Now when I need one I get it and hook it up to a hub on the desk. As you know all too well if the enclosures aren’t all same they have different connectors for the power, so you’ve got a boatload of power adapters, so I’ve plugged in one of each of the most popular cable types so there is power right there where I need it regardless of what pin arrangement is needed. I hope that makes sense. Sure makes for a more tidy looking work space.

There are two options:
Recapture the footage with other cameras or decks to see if there was an incompatibility between the camera it was shot with and the camera that captured it.
Send the tape to SonyMediaServices.com . They’ve been able to completely eliminate artifacts on tapes I’ve sent them. I don’t know how they do it, but when it works its amazing. Only $40 per tape and you’re only charged if they can fix the problems.

Hi Jeff,
I had the same reaction when a friend showed me a clip from a Canon HV20.
By the way – Apple has documentation on the process for the removal of the pull down:

I don’t have any concrete examples of problems running 5.1.4 on Leopard and I do it all day, every day. I use MacBook Pro’s also and it been one of the most stable set ups I’ve had since I started with FCP 1.0. Besides the occasional difficulty getting older external firewire drives to mount its been perfectly reliable.

Hi Robert,
I don’t have any problems at all with that hub on a MacBook. Get it cheaper here:

Hi Vicki,
That will happen if you’ve rendered the audio and the render files are still available. The same thing can happen if the video files are offline but the renders are still linked – plays fine even without the media.

Thanks Steven!

Hi,
The problem seems to have to do with the the difference between the fcp 5 and fcp 6 file types. I had both 5 and 6 running for a while and got the same warning you did. The cure was to only have version 6 in the applications folder when opening files. Don’t move it or rename it.
