I think you should do it as a “circus” type title like:

“Tattoo Dave and the DeathRow Chopper Crew”

I too recently got this error code with my Sony UVW-1600. The tape was stuck, so I removevd the front plate and manually moved the motor pully wheel clockwize until the tape came out. It took awhile, but I got the tape out.

    My question is….

It is still showing that error on the display, and I cannot load another tape in.

    Any thoughts?

    Mike…Jeff…

Thank you so much for the speedy responses. I will give that a shot! So when I do bring in the footage correctly, how do I export it? What I mean is…if I want to trim the fat of the footage from the cam, then later on if I want to add stuff, say like in After Effects, how would I export it from Premiere Pro?

  • ahhh…well I was concerned about this:

I now have an HD cam….so if I were to say kind of film myself talking prior to an old clip, like introducing it….I thought that my brother or sister with an HDTV would have seizures watching the high def stuff then it switching to the 720×480 clips….do the new dvd players or ps3’s detect the new from the old and even it out?

I am sorry if this is such a noob thing to ask! And I wasnt serious about the seizure thing lol!

  • cool I will give Mocha a shot since AE is pushing me over the edge!

  • Well I now have tried 1 black dot on the thumb then 2 black dots. I dont know if I am not placing the box around the dot in the right place or what. Here is what happens…it seems to track fine if my thumb is somewhat still lol. Its when I sway to the left or right when the tracking does not follow the dots. As my thumb moves its like the tracking boxes just stay in the center and does not follow! This is frustrating because I have done the video stabilization before on shakey footage and it worked wonderful…but this motion tracking is just kicking my butt.

I put the little x in the center of the black dot. I put the inner box completely around the black dot. I put the outer box around the inner box pretty tight.

    What am I doing wrong?

Hey thanks for the info Kevin! I will try those settings when I get home! I do have a Intel Core i7 920 processor, so setting the value to 2GB per core will hopefully work for me!

  • Dave,

Thanks for the info. Loved the “stock” answer lol! Another question for you, now could this .mts footage be brought in directly to Premiere pro first, edited, etc. saved out as an avi then edited in After Effects to add some finishing touches? I keep hearing, reading that these files can be brought directly into CS4 Premiere, just not too sure how to exactly do it. NOOB! Meaning that is there certain things I need to check/set, yadda yadda!

OR if I want to just bring directly into After Effects, what would be a good converter to use to convert this .mts file without losing quality?

wow really? I will have to give that a shot! A noob question for you though…how should I bring the clip into Premiere? You know how it asks what settings, etc. Well before I would pick the normal 720×480, etc.
