I just bought a JVC Everio HD300 (AVCHD) camcorder today that shoots at full HD (1920×1080). So far the camera seems pretty sweet! But when I plugged it into my PC (I am a PC guy, not a Mac guy!) I noticed a file format I have never had to deal with, .mts.

So I guess my question is, how do I convert this file without any quality loss to be able to edit within After Effects/Premiere Pro CS4? Is there converting software I need to get to convert first then bring into AE or Premiere?

    HELP!

you dont need any converting software, Premier cs4 accept it as native video, so start editing and enjoying your cam right now.

    Cheers

wow really? I will have to give that a shot! A noob question for you though…how should I bring the clip into Premiere? You know how it asks what settings, etc. Well before I would pick the normal 720×480, etc.
