Glad to hear you worked it out. Great suggestion on the fracture object, Andy.

Will, thanks for sharing the project. Could you please walk me through the steps you took and what your intentions were with each, and what you intend to do with the completed setup? I think I am confused by your use of the mograph selection, which would allow you to select one of each of the 13 objects. At what point did you make that selection?

I’ve got to leave for a doctor’s appointment shortly, but will check back later. Perhaps someone brighter than me will chime in in the meantime. 😉

With “Iterate” selected it shouldn’t repeat any clones until going through all of them. Perhaps I’m missing something else in your setup. Could you upload the project file, perhaps with simplified objects?

I would think you would want your Clones set to “Iterate,” rather than “Random.”

  • I guess finding a solution wasn’t that important.

No. A Color Shader has no folder input. I was just suggesting tests to see if there is an underlying bug present. The Color Shader would use the same random effector set to “Effector Color” to randomize the colors of the tiles.

Did you get the same issue when trying different texture folders, including ones with different types of textures (jpg, png, i.e.)?

It would help if you could upload your project file so that I, and possibly others, could try it with our own textures. Or at least a simplified version that shows the same issue.

  • Changing the light sources Visible Light setting to “Visible,” and using the Standard renderer, I got the image below. Is this more of what you’re looking for?

If you are getting the same issues with different texture folders (and/or using a Color Shader instead) could you post your project file so that others could try it with their own textures?

One more thought. Do you get the same odd issues if you use a different folder of textures in the Multi Shader, or if you simply use a Color Shader instead?

In regards to the altering of the random seed, I never doubted that what you said was happening actually was. I was only looking for possibilities, and the accidental altering of the random seed was one. The fact that the textures change when zooming is really odd — which may suggest that a reinstall is necessary. Again, I am at a loss as to what is going on. Perhaps someone else will chime in with a solution. Best of luck.
