  • Interesting article. In my dealings with control freaks I also realized that if you want them to consider any of your ideas, make it somehow seem like it was their’s to begin with. You also have to learn to pick your battles. I think just dealing with these people is also a good way to learn how to do business with people in general.

That’s been my experience on the Adren 1.3 too…it only pastes to the same track.

    Hmm. I could’ve sworn I did it before…by accident. Now I can’t remember how!

Actually, if the original footage isn’t interacting with anything else (3D, Matte, etc) you could render the Comp to a movie and import>replace the original footage.

The only thing I can figure out is to drap and drop the footage into each Comp in the Project window itself. But then you still have to transfer any effects, etc. that you have on the original footage. Hmmm, tough one.

If I’m understanding your question right, that is.

    Hey Rory,
Nice reel. I just wanted to suggest that when you re-edit it and recompress it to try posting it in the demo reel forum again. I have a feeling that you didn’t get responses before because it took so long to download and people were probably giving up on waiting for it.

    Hey Nathan,

Try this tutorial from the famous Ayato:

    https://www.ayatoweb.com/ae_tips_e/ae04_e.html#

Also, do a search for “particle” on the cow. This has been discussed a few times before.

    Hope that helps,

Sometimes it helps to start with the music first. Find something appropriate and interesting for the client (like Arie said) and go from there.

Hmm, I don’t really have any experience with Trapcode Particular, but my guess is any effect that deals with particles is going to be heavy on the RAM consumption.
Not that shatter is any faster, but there’s a tutorial on here called Introduction to Shatter or something like that. It has a technique that may also help you out.

    Hope that helps.
