  • Help, urgent! how to get this fx?

Posted by Marco on June 23, 2005 at 10:33 am

I’ve searched here but no lunk – the thing is that I don’t know what to type in the search field to find the properly thread about this stuff.
    So, here’s the problem.
I’ve to finish a work very soon and I need a fx like this:
    https://xplsv.tv/motion.php?id=152

the fx I talking about is when the text UNTITLED turns into particles and then into that little circle.
Now, it seems there’s a camera, a radial blur … but what about the paricles?!?
I’ve tried the pixel polly fx, like ayato shows in his tutorial but is not right the same …
    Help mates!

thanks for your quick reply James, I’ve a hope now.
btw, is there an alternative way? particle playground takes so longs time …
    maybe with trapcode particular?

Hmm, I don’t really have any experience with Trapcode Particular, but my guess is any effect that deals with particles is going to be heavy on the RAM consumption.
Not that shatter is any faster, but there’s a tutorial on here called Introduction to Shatter or something like that. It has a technique that may also help you out.

    Hope that helps.

just found (it seems) a good alternative: Boris 2d Particles.
It seems faster and ready to use.

I am sorry if this is inappropriate, but I am trying the same thing but dont know how to get the particles to form another object. I figured it would be better to ask here than start a new thread. ANy ideas?

    Hey Nathan,

Try this tutorial from the famous Ayato:

    https://www.ayatoweb.com/ae_tips_e/ae04_e.html#

Also, do a search for “particle” on the cow. This has been discussed a few times before.

    Hope that helps,
    Jim

thanks I do have that I and I understand how to break the object apart, but how to form another escapes me, but I am going to search for “particles” now as recommended

I looked at that tutorial but I dont have final effects complete which the tut calls for. I searched for particles and found one topic but the answer was not really expanded upon. I’ll keep looking tho. 🙁
