Try making a copy of the project and open up the copy. I have seen the same issue with FCP because of MP4s. Fom my experience, there’s not much around it.

July 22, 2012 at 5:53 pm in reply to: FCP 7 install on same machine that already has FCP X?I would try to rename the names of the FCPX programs (Final Cut Pro to Final Cut X, Motion to Motion 5, Compressor to Compressor 4). That way, when you install Final Cut Studio 3, it will install with the default names an hopefully not override or hid anything. And, of course, make sure you install it somewhere you know where you can find it.

July 22, 2012 at 5:48 pm in reply to: Moving from FCP 7 to Premiere Pro and Encore CS6CS6 is not defective. If you want to make an item an orphan, I would go to that asset in the Project tab and remove it from there if you can’t do it from the Flowchart.

Need a little bit more information.
What are your specs for Compressor?
What are the specs of your file?
What are you trying to export?Could just be a matter of switching something in Compressor or maybe something in your sequence within Final Cut.

July 20, 2012 at 11:34 am in reply to: Final Encore ‘build’ extremely slow, or normal? The 6 hours sounds about right. If you don’t make the necessary m2v and ac3 streams, Encore has to encode your Premiere sequence. Encore has to virtually take your sequence and make it’s own stream for it to recognize. So to eliminate the time, try making DVD streams, import those into your Encore project, the time should decrease significantly.

Encore CS6 gives me similar issues with a DVD. Canyoy burn an image file on the Blu-Ray and then use with Toast or Disk Utility to burn it?

July 19, 2012 at 9:24 pm in reply to: Burning a dvd with 5.1 Surround Sound in DVD Studio ProI don’t think you are doing anything wrong. When you play the DVD back to check it, are you playing it on a 5.1 system? Or on your computer? Also, what type of audio set-up do you have for your computer? I would also check your settings on your 5.1 set-up (mainly the receiver) to make sure that you don’t have DVDs set to downmix.
