    Hi there gang,

Ok every time i try to export a vid from Final Cut it always produces a 4:3 film instead of a 16:9. Because the aspect ratio was recorded in 16:9 the image is just squashed and looks horrendous. It never used to be like this and then someone borrowed my computer and hey presto it sucks.

Everytime i try to export i change the settings each time as you can do when exporting with the quicktime converter, but golly it always comes out crappy.

If you could aid me i’d really appreciate it.

    Thanks guys and dolls

Need a little bit more information.

What are your specs for Compressor?
What are the specs of your file?
What are you trying to export?

Could just be a matter of switching something in Compressor or maybe something in your sequence within Final Cut.

Are you working in standard def? If so then it is normal to produce a 16:9 image as 4:3 anamorphic. If you are making a file to be used in broadcast then there is no problem but what is the file for?
