I had to deal with the same problem several times. It seems that the only solution for the time beeing is to export the project as a Premiere project via File > Export > Adobe Premiere Pro Project, and then import it back in the previous version of AE.
The thing with Premiere is that is uses XML as a project files, and its a great deal. It saved my but several times, because I was able to quickly write a parser that would do crazy things with the project, create new language version when subtitles are included and so on and so on.
I don’t know why they didn’t use XML in AE. Thats why I’ve been working on a AE script that will parse the current project and export it as XML, so you could then use the same script to import XML file in older versions of AE.
The basic idea is that it works like a macro – rebuilding the project from scratch.
Unfortunately this is not so easy as it sounds and since I don’t have that much time the project is far from releasing, so if theres anyone crazy enough to take this idea and make it a real script than it would be great!

sure. as most things. you need lots and lots of time, hard work, and some luck. no “make look cool button” in this case.
using 3d tracker would be ideal it might seem, but i think it’s totally possible to go with standard AE build in 2d pixel tracker.

I think that what he wants is to have this woman standing inside the object. For example lets assume that this 3d object is a bowl, or a bucket, small swimming pool, whatever.
I belive that he thinks that rendering this 3d obkect with depth will result in being able to put the one layer inside the object, so that some part of the obkject is in front of her, and the other is behind.
am i right?

I’d rather say that many effects could cause Out of Memory error, or AE cannot render RESxRES, or something, but not a crash.
AE tends to crash from time to time. Like all apps. But if you say it’s not random crashing than there is a certain cause. I’d try to turn all the layers off, and then do a ram preview turning one more each time to find the layer that might cause this problem.
It may me footage, codecs, damaged ram chip… hard to say.

It’s hard to say really. Could you tell us that effects do you use? Some of them are pretty CPU intensive and that might cause the problem (like TimeWarp and Force Motion Blur)
If you ever run into this problem again try to work in Half resolution, and make proxies of your complex comps.

You can reduce keyframes by applying “The Smoother” (Window > The Smoother), but you may also try using some expressions.
