anyone watch this movie with will farrell? i’d really like to know if it’s possible to recreate the special effect where random labels and graphs popup in live action scenes. is this possible in AE7 alone?

sure. as most things. you need lots and lots of time, hard work, and some luck. no “make look cool button” in this case.

using 3d tracker would be ideal it might seem, but i think it’s totally possible to go with standard AE build in 2d pixel tracker.

    good luck

The DVD has a section called “making a GUI” or something like that where they explain how they made those effects. It doesn’t give a lot of technical details, but it does sort of diagram their workflow. They also talk about the titling. I have read elsewhere that a good portion of the effects were done with AE.
