Thanks. I was set at 1920 X 1080 but may have previewed badly. I decided to go with using Illustrator to make the file and scrolling that.
What is REALLY bothering me is the way my older computer is flashing a black screen every time I resize a window or move the preview window.

I tried my version 7 number and got a different screen. I haven’t gotten an email from them yet and I have about 14 programs listed on my Sony account site. You don’t have to add in a discount code, do you? The “9” thing is enough?

No, this isn’t 64 bit. At NAB I was told the 64 bit version would be release in BETA to only people who have upgraded to V8.

If you are running Cineform, they do a pretty good job. Shoot 24f and convert on capture with HD Link. If you ever shoot with a Z1 use 50i and on capture click to deinterlace and reduce 4%. That comes out 24p and is written into the program. Check their website for an explanation.

You didn’t get had. I’m a big supporter of Cineform – going from HD Connect (Vegas) to Aspect and now Prospect. Cineform rewrites the preview engine of Premiere and it will run their codec in real time – not just one track but several. This is huge if you ever tried running HD footage in Vegas. That alone would be worth the money.
But the other thing is that Cineform is an editable codec that withstands multiple renders virtually lossless. (Read the website.)
I started with Cineform 2 years ago. I don’t plan on going to anything else in the foreseeable future.

Along this line, can you create the adjustment layer over just a portion of the composition, and if so, how? Are there some keystrokes or commands like the “b” and “n” to set the composition area?

With mpg2 you have to hit the “custom” button and then the “audio” tab and turn on the sound. But the suggested way to do it to do a DVD with DVDA is to record the mpg2 file and then do a separate AC3 file for the audio. Use those 2 to create the DVD file. Many just create it in DVDA and then burn it with Nero.

I’ve been working with HDV for 2 years. The only real time preview I’ve gotten is with a Cineform (Aspect or Prospect) on Premiere. They rewrite the Premiere engine to run their codecs and it does. This is done with NO special card. It far surpasses anything I ever go in Vegas and that is with a Tyan board with 2 dual core cpus.
