I would like to experiment with the 24 frames per second setting on my Sony hvr-a1u. Should I anticipate any trouble capturing, editing, and exporting 24p on Premiere Pro 2.0?

The 24P setting still records to tape with a 30i signal (pulldown added). You should capture and edit with a standard (29.97 1080i) project setting. Think of this camera setting as an in-camera “film look” effect.

If you are running Cineform, they do a pretty good job. Shoot 24f and convert on capture with HD Link. If you ever shoot with a Z1 use 50i and on capture click to deinterlace and reduce 4%. That comes out 24p and is written into the program. Check their website for an explanation.
