Sounds like normal behavior to me… you have to turn on the various render bar colors to be rendered when you type a render all command. They do have to be turned on in the render all submenu.

Why export the files? Just merge the clips instead.

I’d suggest a faster media drive setup might help. Getting 4 streams of ProRes HQ to play from a FW 800 drive is asking a bit much I’d think. Might try down rezzing the files for edit, then reconnect to the HQ files after the edit. ProRes Proxy would be the way to go with a single FW 800 drive.

If you know the name of the clip, with the timeline window selected and the sequence in it, you can type cmd +f to search for a clip within it. Is it possible it’s asking for a render file? If so just re render…

FCP 7 doesn’t support H.264 files. You need to transcode your footage to ProRes files.

I’m not clear on what you have going there, but if they’re all in the same sequence, then you could send them all at once.

What format are the clips you’ve down converted?
They should be ProRes files. Some codecs don’t work with RT extreme for real time playback of unrendered effects. Sounds like you’re working with the wrong codec.

Can’t change the editing timebase of a sequence… what is it that you’re trying to do? What’s you’re deliverable. There’s a better way I’ll bet.
