To avoid problems in the future, don’t trash anything from the desktop, rather open the projects whose media you want to delete and use the “make offline” commands on the media, and use the “Render Manager” to delete render files associated with the sequences in the project.
To get around your problem now though, the first thing to try is to take ALL media offline by putting it in another folder. Then see if you can open the project file, and reconnect a few at a time, until the crash shows up. (this is the way to find media that has become corrupted). You may have trashed an “av” file that was created when you captured media that needs to be there to see all of the media.

Post more about which version of FCP, OS and QuickTime you are running. Seems QT 7 messed up a lot of camera connections, but it’s fixable if you are running that.

I’m pretty sure that you can’t do this easily because that data is part of the current project file… I suppose you could create a new one, then copy all clips/sequences etc from the old to the new and get a fresh slate on it that way.

Don’t know what you did, but I’d guess trashing your FCP prefs would bring it back to normal.

Try this: https://fcprescue.andersholck.com/ to remove your preferences with FCP closed. Then from the Sequence menu, after you reopen FCP, select Render all/ and turn on each of the render states there. Then type option+r and see if the renders will get going…

I’ve read that FCP will run on it, thru emulation that makes it creep… You really want the Universal version I’d think for sure though.

Make sure the scratch disk is running before you launch a project file for starters, and don’t move media on the desktop then launch. Use MM for that…
