If the footage is DV, check to make sure it was shot 16 bit. If the camera reports other than that on it’s on screen display during playback, the capture presets can’t be 48k… they need to be 32khz 16 bit. Capturing at the wrong preset would cause the outta sync problem for sure.

Odd indeed. Capture the first clip by itself?
The timecode isn’t higher on that first clip? If so this would be normal behavior.

That too will create a plethora of folders. The fix is to save versions if you must, but continue to work on one project file. That way no folders are created for later versions when you render or import video.

I think you need a different computer display. Otherwise, what will happen is that you’ll likely see the video distorted a bit in the viewer and canvas. Won’t actually distort it, but you’ll see it that way. I’d look at a different monitor.

Copy the clip in the sequence, then replace the edit. After that, right click on the clip, and choose “Paste attributes” from the window that will open. Paste filters or whatever from that window.

I think if you do things this way, you’ll have to conform the show in the end again.
By keyframes, you mean ‘i’ frames, right? The GOP structure of XDCAM is the same as HDV’s I’m pretty sure. 1 in 15 frames is an i frame. Just higher bit rates and color space recordings resulting in larger versions of the compression scheme.

I don’t think mine is running too hot. It warms up but so would any computer doing heavy lifting. It’s warranty would cover a problem from overheating in any event. Buy the applecare during the first year for sure too.
