Select the sequence in your Browser, and then select Media Manager from the file menu. Set up the dialog box to include: Copy, use current settings, add the handles you want click on create new project, click on delete unused media, and then select the location for the copies of the media files, after you click OK, there will be a dialog box to ask you what to call the new project file…

I have to agree with David. I don’t use FCP for keys of any kind either. FWIW, the keyer in FCP X blows FCP 7’s way outta water.
That said, have you tried Motion’s keyer? At least you own that…

Running OS X on a PC is full of problems… and isn’t the way to go at all. Get a used Mac if your budget is tight, or a refurb from Apple.
Running Windows on a Mac isn’t a problem, but running OS X on a PC is a pain in the patootie.

I wonder if you could add an edit where the bad things are happening say a second or so on either side of the ugly, then simply re-render or re adjust that portion…

Do you have compressor? If so open the MP3 in that and convert it.
