April 1, 2012 at 3:35 pm in reply to: moving Final Cut Pro 7 document to another computerYou can move the project file on that external, but you also must have all of the media files on it as well. To make sure, it’s all OK, just open that copy, and in the column header in the Browser next to the name column, click there to reveal a list of unused column header names. Select “Show Source” to show the path names to the media files the clips are referencing. Be sure that they are all on that external drive.
Other than that, there’s nothing else to copy from the first to the second computer.

March 28, 2012 at 4:05 am in reply to: Compressor Error: “Status: Failed – 3x should not be auto-detect at this point”I hate when that happens.
I suspect the “downconverted” files are corrupt or edgy enough to not work.
Have you tried rebuilding them? i.e. recompressing them to the same format first?Might try exporting them from FCP making them self contained, using current settings, and turn on the “recompress all frames” checkbox. Then give it another go. Try on one file first?

If you were to reinstall it all, it would work I’ll wager.
If it were me, and it’s been a long time since a clean install from the OS up I’d consider that.
Run in the same versions you’re at on that older machine…

March 27, 2012 at 6:23 pm in reply to: Black Magic Intensoty pro Capture and Voice Recording? You could do it at the same time, but why not use the VO tool in FCP after you’ve captured the footage, and watch it during the VO sesison… a loop as it were.
That said, seems to me you should be able to send a mic to a mixer then on to the input of the card directly… attachine only the video from the game machine, and mixing it’s audio if need be with the mixer.

March 27, 2012 at 6:21 pm in reply to: Additive Dissolve disappears when rendered – multitrack videoMaxim, what you can’t imagine is what more editors than not do… I do it that way always, and use the effects editor to adjust rather than slip slide video around…
Probably a bug in the way your setting it up with two tracks… should have worked, but doesn’t. At least you’ve a work around.

March 27, 2012 at 6:05 pm in reply to: Export Setting & Can a 1920×1080 video be 4:3 (0.9091 PAR) without pillar boxing? You’ll need to do this in Compressor. Do you have it installed? They likely want a program stream, and you can’t do that from FCP directly.
