Not sure you need to export the clips that are working OK. Can’t say why they worked and others didn’t though.
The batch lists of subclips is certainly possible, but I’m pretty sure it won’t track the audio’s TC… XML export might, though I know just enough about that to be dangerous. Maybe someone here’s done it already…
You’re merging these clips, right?

And the audio file format recorded was? Maybe if you export the audio files to aiffs? Might preserve the timecode.. wav files seem to do odd things so I’ve always transcoded them to aif’s first.

Don’t think the output of the PC is a standard video signal, so likely won’t record as expected. Are you trying to capture a computer program’s output or the PC’s computer screen or desktop? There are capture utilities for that which might work a lot better.

Did you transcode the T2i footage to ProRes before you edited?

Good point, Nick. I suppose it’s really only broadcast that will want the 25fps.
But there’s that difference in the number of lines. PAL’s larger. ‘nother 100 scan lines in fact. So for the best you’d want to take HD to PAL directly for PAL consumption I’d put out.. eh? PAL is better color than NTSC too; hands down better. So makes sense to me to make the PAL streams from the HD. HD sizes are the same thank heavens between PAL countries and NTSC countries.
Hollywood movies are shot 24fps and they translate beautifully to PAL frame rates and countries. The US’s number one export in dollars is entertainment. Don’t the major’s always release in a 25 or 50fps master in the EU? They should if they don’t I’d think. especially if going to SD DVD’s.

24p isn’t NTSC… you’ll be doing a 24p or 29.97 with pulldown added and a PAL version from 24p… not from 29.97… it will look just as good as you can shoot.

It think you continue to shoot 24p. Then the transfers to PAL will look much the same as the transfers to NTSC…

Set the speed in FCP, then send the file to Motion. Open the timeing pane, and select “optical flow” for the render… render and save.
It should look better with anything where there is no panning involved.

Most of the time, dropped frames are being caused by drive problems… what are you using as a scratch disk, and have you tested it’s write speed?
