You are correct that this should not be happening. What effect are you using when you see this? Are you moving the playhead to the first frame when trying to clear the cache? Please feel free to email me directly at jeremy@borisfx.com

For an issue like this it is best to first try an uninstall and reinstall such as Helge did. I was able to get Helge a different installer that worked for him. If anyone else is seeing the issue please feel free to contact me directly at jeremye@borisfx.com for assistance.

Hello James,

You should be able to right click on the tab for each window and select “Open Tab in New Window” This will separate the window from the group allowing you to move it around independently.

It is compatible, however if you are not using the latest installer it may not show an option for CS5.5 in the custom installation.

What you would want to do is run the installer and select Custom Install as opposed to Complete Install. This will allow you to make sure the AE 5.5 is selected and it will show you the path to which it is installing. If the path is incorrect you would want to change it there to C:Program Files>Adobe>Common>Plug-ins>CS5.5>MediaCore

The plugins should install to the follow directory:
C:Program Files>Adobe>Common>Plug-ins>CS5.5>MediaCore
