  • Why not use itunes? Just set up a playlist as your batch.

We’ve had it running on 3 of 7 seats since the day it was released and haven’t had any troubles.

I don’t mind doing the math, I was just complaining because if the preset says 150 then it should allow 150 not 120.

I liked the mpeg 2 export directly from my timeline where it would estimate my file size as I moved my sliders, but now with newer versions I use compressor and it doesn’t have a file size estimater that I know of just the video length calculations.

If I compress the video using this preset the video file doesn’t even fit on the disc much less any audio.

But if you must know I was going to use ac3 at 192 in 2/0. Like I said the video file is larger than what will fit on a disc with that preset

We ended hooking a beta deck up to a regular old 13 inch tv and it worked just fine. We’re able to do all our checking through that. I haven’t hooked the kona up directly yet, but will probably do that as it would be more convenient.

Thanks for the suggestions and help.

When you open it in photoshop go under image>pixel aspect ratio>d1 dv ntsc widescreen (1.2) and it should look normal.

About a year ago I upgraded from the the 400 to a sonnet 1ghz. At that time it was a 250 dollar upgrade and it gave my computer a few years of extra life as the 400 won’t support many of today’s software upgrades. It was more than worth it to me and cut my compression times in half, not to mention being able to take advantage of realtime preview in FCP.

If you get the upgrade and decide in a year to get a new computer you’ll now have a less outdated backup system. I’ve never had any compatiblity issues either. I just popped it in the machine and it worked and continues to work. Your computer my be able to handle a dual proccesor as well, but not all 400 models can. You may want to look into that as well.

I don’t think you can go wrong unless you can afford to get a g5.

I will try that and let you know how it works. The thing is it works fine with imovie, but i’m not going to capture in that than import to fcp. I’ll let you know if this quicktime thing works.
