    Thanks for the response Jerry,

I was by myself in the office yesterday & needed some quick advice. We have narrowed it down to our 9TB G-RAID that we have on a 1G ethernet. Have moved to a local drive and the problem has cleared up. We have just moved into a new office and have not gotten everything up to speed yet. My tech is coming in Monday to straighten things out.

    Thanks again,

    Jeff

Copy your clip, then hilight the other clips. Option-V will bring up the paste attributes. Click on filters. Done!

I tested a one minute clip of DV video, the reference movie was 190Mb, the self-contained movie was 210Mb.

    Thanks Mark!

It is happening to us in both FCP 5 & 6. I will try the new project trick in the AM.

Been using forward slashes for years without a problem. I thought / & \ were only problematic with Windooze.

Thanks for the quick responce. Yes, all the drives are clones. However the Master has changed slightly. I will try having the guys bring in their drive to help it match up.

It gets even weirder. My clips have names like: 01/E/03. But when it opens in Reconnect Manager, it wants to look for a clip named: 01E03. It is dropping the forward slashes! It has not done this before.

It sometimes has the correct name, but still has to be lead by the hand to find the original clip. I do have Relative Paths selected. I have to deselect matched names cause it’s changed the name.

    Thanks guys!

Click on your project in the brower tab. Make sure nothing is highlighted in your main bin. Then export the project as an XML. It is in your pulldown menu under File/Export.

Make sure you see your entire project at the top of the dialog box.
    Check all the appropriate boxes.
You will be asked for a choice of 1-4 versions. Try the #1 version first.

After you get the XML, open up FCP in your IMac, then import the XML.

Save it as a new project or save it right into your current project.

    Good luck,m

Fixed it by using FCP Rescue 5 which deletes my prefs and bring them back in.

Have tried Compressor, but it gives me 3 files. I need to have the mpeg-2 in one complete file.

    Thanks,

    Jeff
