FCP will not start
Trying to open a project file in FCP 5.0.4, but nothing will open, even if I try to open a new project from the dock. FCP starts to open, but just quits. Does not even show me the bug report box.
All my other apps open with no problem, including all the apps that came with FCP Studio: LiveType2, Soundtrack Pro, Motion 2 and DVD Studio Pro.
I have tried reinstalling FCP, reparing disk permissions, repairing the drive with Disk Utiilty by rebooting with the install disk. All with no luck.

Have you tried trashing your preferences. Usually corrects problems like what you describe.

Fixed it by using FCP Rescue 5 which deletes my prefs and bring them back in.

If that doesn’t work, as in my case once, I trashed my entire Prefs folder and then she started.
