[Tony Gold] “I always assumed that the animation codec was one of the best because it was lossless”
It is lossless as long as you don’t adjust it’s compression (leave it at 100%)

The Animation codec was engineered for transporting video (with an alpha (or not)) between applications. It was never designed for RT (real time) playback.

The Millions of Colors PLUS (+), means millions of colors PLUS an alpha channel. C4D must be rendering the alpha and you need to tell QuickTime to also have millions of colors PLUS the alpha channel, hence millions+

I’m not sure of the CMDZ problem; f8 fullscreen only works if you have ONE motion project open.

It sounds like your mouse or keyboard is bad.

Try them on the other computer. It IS possible to do everything on the mac via keyboard; but what you really want is a working mouse. You want a working mouse. If the mouse/keyboard on the other computer works – try plugging it into the imac.

  • CPC Captions make closed captioning software (as well as a service to do it for you.)

    They suggest vpedal

  • Yup. In trim mode while the footage is playing tap Q (go to in) or W(go to out). The system will now loop the outgoing only or incoming only. Very powerful.

February 5, 2011 at 4:11 pm in reply to: Fast & Effect MTS Import into Avid MC5?

I just dropped an MTS file into Sorenson Squeeze (v6) that came with your system.

Any reason you haven’t tried that? It’ll make DNxHD or go to ProRes.

Mpeg Streamclip doesn’t play the audio? My guess is that your system doesn’t have anything that can decode AC-3 audio. Do you have any other compression tools around? Have you tried using Adobe Media Encoder? I assume you’re using the Avid codec as a compressed HD format?

February 5, 2011 at 3:49 pm in reply to: flash with video editing program

I’m not a flash user – that’s the forum you’d want to be on. Either that or on the Vegas Forum here on Cow.

You’re trying to export a flash file in a format that Vegas can use for Chroma keying (that’s the title of the post you’ll make over in the flash forum.)

In the meantime, here’s what you can do.
First, my guess on why you can’t export a QuickTime file, is that you don’t have QuickTime installed. QuickTime is often used as a container to move elements to video software; But I could be wrong; you’re on a PC, and flash might only have an AVI option.

As far as Vegas goes; look for the option to import a Image Sequence. That’s what you’re getting by exporting your PNG files.
