No luck. I even tried updating my nividia gpu to the latest beta driver for Mac but still could not get a HiDPI or Retina option to appear in scaled resolution setting of my Acer monitor. I also tried different display port version settings in the monitor menu (stick to 1.2), but no luck. Maybe if I was using a 50″ monitor it would look ok at 4K, but I’m keeping it at 2560×1440 for now to keep thing readable. At some point, I think I’ll just bite the bullet and get an Apple Monitor.

I’m doing color correction with the 4K monitor in FCPX, but that all should be fine as long as I’m calibrated. I’d just like a larger preview window. I found a quick res switch app I can use for now. Thanks!

So right, I have a Acer 4K monitor attached to my Mac Pro and the native 4K makes the FCPX UI too small to read or use (I’ve tried so many of the bandaid and accessibility options, but its just unreadable).
I do see some fast resolution switching software I might be to use…
Also I don’t get the retnia hidpi options in display list even when going to scaled with the alt/option key held down.I think I might need a second non 4K monitor to edit 4K and do other stuff on my mac (like email or safari or finder even).
I have a 2010 imac that I might be able to put into target display mode if El Capitan will let me…

Hi, I have recently started using fcpx and I am encounter this delay or lag issue when scrubbing or starting playback on the timeline and in clips libary. Is there a setting or other hardware issue I could check?
I’m on a 2011 Mac Pro with internal apple raid and did not have this issue in either fcp 6 or premiere pro which also run/ran on this mac. I have the import ingesting this achd 720P footage as optimized and the audio fix boxes are also checked.
I don’t see any settings that might be of help. I really is hard to edit, especially trim with this behavior.

March 1, 2013 at 4:33 pm in reply to: KiPro footage appearing as 60P but shot at 30P ingested in Normal modeThanks the clarification on the SDI always being 59.94fps for 720P Jeremy, I did not know that.
I was still having audio sync issues so I tried dropping the prores file into a new premiere sequence so that it would automatically pick the settings instead of me doing it. I noticed another change: the footage is reporting as Non-drop-frame timecode and I had been setting it up as drop-frame since that was how we had it on the cameras (or so I thought).
Could this be causing the audio sync issue? Is this another SDI thing I need to know about?
Thanks!Jeff Baker

I am seeing the same media browser import issue with my hpx-250 camera. It is my first time to import P2 into Premiere so I am trying just about everything to get Premiere to ignore Audio Channels 3&4 either on import from media browser or using the Modify/Audio Channels command or on the darn camera menu. No luck with any of the methods.
There are no options in the camera menu audio setup or audio switches to let me turn off ch3&ch4, I have it set to record of channel 1&2 to a single stereo mix. This worked great on my AVCHD footage that did not have a 3rd and 4th channel.Media browser does not offer any audio import options I can see.
New Sequence setup allows be to create a stereo track (defaults to 4 mono tracks) but nothing else
Modify Audio Channels screen is blanked out and will not let me make any changes as far as I can tell, but this looks like the place to do it, if it would let me. Ugh!Any other ideas I am not thinking about would be great. Thanks!

April 25, 2012 at 1:50 pm in reply to: Why is NBC requesting Betacam format from me? I’m all digital. Thanks Shawn, I think this is exactly what we will do, but I will call NBC to confirm. Here at a college, we are no longer willing to pay for a dub house to provide this kind of service when we could just upload a file, or in this case, send a usb drive. We just don’t need to do that anymore and broadcasters need to accept that in my opinion. For people that work with networks for more frequently their may be another argument, but really, NBC is aware of dropbox and ftp just like the rest of the world.
