Just figured this out. The way to get waveforms to show up in Adobe Premiere CC 7.2.2 atleast is to make sure none of the audio clips inside the nest have any effects on them. Soon as you strip all the FX off of the audio clips in the nest you’ll see your waveforms again when you drop the nested sequence on a timeline. This was driving me batty but just dumb lucked into figuring it out today.

Really this is supposed to happen? is there any way to force premiere to remember the thumbnails because this is becoming one of the most frustrating parts of using premiere. I have projects with hundreds of thumbnails and even if i walk away and go make lunch and come back it still hasn’t created all the thumbnails, i have to scroll to a new section of clips b4 premiere starts rendering the thumbnails. this seems so wrong to me. It takes me way too long to find a clip how are others dealing with this.

thx just submitted a feature request for those two features as well as the ability to gang audio from different tracks to adjust the levels.

okay cool thats good to know. but if I want to do multiple adjustments to different clips like having one section of a clip start out @ -3 db then add an edit and have it cross fade into another section of the clip at -20 db I wouldn’t be able to do that through a submix right. So is there no way to say hey these four tracks I want them all to be -20 db?

thanks David. It’s too bad fcp can’t do that but we found something called file sequencer that’s free and renames image sequences. It’s an extra step but it works.

thanks for the suggestions guys. I figured it out. I wasn’t using consolidate right. I had to uncheck “skip media files already on target drive.”

so what about if the media is lots of image sequences. If I have thousands and thousands of exr image sequences, am I better off with journaled then?
