    Hi All,
Is there a way to make subclips of all the clips in a sequence in a single click?

Here’s what I’m trying to do. I made a music video with hundreds of clips from the same single 2 hour file. And I want to be able to get rid of all the pieces of the 2 hour video i don’t use in the sequence. So I’m thinking I need to make subclips with handles of all the clips and then I can delete the single 2 hour file. But I don’t want to manually create 100’s of subclips. any suggestions much appreciated.

    thanks,
    jayson

You can do a video mixdown of your sequence. That should give a copy with just the edited shots. Then if you delete your raw, you still have a mixdown of the video and/or audio tracks you want to keep.

What you want is called ‘consolidate’ in avid.
Get an empty drive, select your sequence, select ‘consolidate’ and new clips are generated (with handles if you like) for the parts used.

Do study the manual and do some tests, as it can be destructive!

thanks for the suggestions guys. I figured it out. I wasn’t using consolidate right. I had to uncheck “skip media files already on target drive.”
