Sorry I misunderstood your original post. What exactly is happening? Did you do an Easy setup for the correct setup prior to editing? For instance ‘DV-PAL’?

Suggest you use Nattress standards conversion to convert footage to NTSC then relink to the new footage or reedit to replace.

    https://www.nattress.com/Products/standardsconversion/standardsconversion.htm

very reasonable price, detailed instructions, great results…

February 27, 2008 at 7:13 am in reply to: Lacie 4TB drive issues

Has your machine been crashing/freezing forcing you to restart? If so, or even if not try running a utility such as Disk warrior, Drive Genius or Tech tool to check/repair the volume information.

Also I’ve noticed drives act goofy if they were not formatted for Mac OS before using (Im not sure if all Lacie drives are Mac formatted out of the box) so check to make sure the drive is formatted for Mac OS.

Make sure your drive isn’t completely full – leaving around 5% free on your drive is a good thing.

    Hope this helps

[Danial Chase] “We would also like to share media between the 2 edit systems much like you are able to do with the Avid unity system.”

Happy New Year to you as well. Just throwing my 2 cents in on sharing media – Check out Facilis Technology’s Terrablock systems. I am a freelancer and have a few clients with these systems and can report they are solid, fibre-channel, dongle-free, shared storage workhorses. There tech support is great as well (for the 1 time I had to call with help adding a system – which the issue happened to be a simple oversight on my end)

This is a perfect solution for the size facility you described. Other SAN implementations are complete overkill for shared storage for smaller boutiques – and yes the manpower to run them cannot be underestimated.

    Cheers!

November 9, 2007 at 5:29 am in reply to: Ingesting P2 metadata to FCP 6

[Dan Mills] “Well, I guess I don’t feel like such an idiot. I was looking in the help files for almost an hour without success. I figured it had to be pretty simple – but without knowing, I was wandering in circles.

So, yes – Apple – how ’bout a little documentation when you change something?”

DITTO!! I thought I had lost my mind when a help search produced nothing when searching “Log and Transfer” the name of the stinking tool!!!! 🙂

Im a bit new to P2 and since there is no documentation I’m guess when you Add a selection to the Queue it starts copying to the capture scratch folder FCP is currently set to, is this correct?

Secondly, Does anyone know what Log & Transfer is looking for when you get the error message –

“roll_x” has an invalid directory structure. Plesae choose a folder whose directory structure matches the supported media.

    ???

How many audio channels appear in the Edit to Tape Window? Check your Device Control Preset under – A/V Settings and make sure you are using an appropriate setting with 4 channels of audio!
    Hope this helps

Well..maybe its a lunar ,crystal sync, kryptonite, Mayan calendar-end-of-the-world thing. Are you near Area 51? 🙂
    Sorry I couldn’t resist.

Seriously this is a real stumper.

    Hmmm.
How much footage? Can they be logically broken up into segments/songs/interviews and recapture smaller clips?

Wow that is weird. The only times I’ve seen this happen is when capturing to firewire drives (ugh!) or when for some reason I found “Abort Capture on Dropped Frames” deselected under User Preferences – which was a real bummer!

Please share if you find the culprit
