Can’t you still “send to compressor”? It’s similar to using compressor settings inside FCPX, but it just has to launch the app…

It’s always been the case that you can only use the Matrox hardware to either 1) view your timeline, or 2) use the max chip to compress. So it’s not much different than before.

I can’t find 2.13 on the sony site. Have you moved away from XDCAM Transfer to exclusively XDCAM Browser? Is there a way to get XDCAM Transfer for Lion?

Do you mean like XDCAM browser? You need the XDCAM codec to read these files…whereas with the proxies, it’s h264.

Jerry, I think he is referring to the proxies the camera creates. (optical media)
I’ve had the same thing come up. Fortunately, I work for a company where I’m able to dictate the player in most cases.
Sony makes software for reading these proxies…but it’s only for PC. (and it needs written from camera) as opposed to copied from xdcam transfer.
Luckily on Mac snow leopard, qt7 is a free download.
