Your question is a bit confusing to me, but I’ll give you 2 answers;
or try to rephrase the question.– If you’re the animator… start animating at frame 1 !
– If you want to detect a scene change in a video source try “Magnum the edit detector” link

Queue the comps that need to be rendered (the automated QT renders also)
When collecting select “Queued comps” and reduce project;
If you have 20 comps and only 10 queued, AE will only collect the 10 queued comps and the media it needs. (you’ll see the amount of Megabytes changing when you do this)After rendering the Image-Seq, the first computer that’s free will start rendering the Quicktime.
You can’t select wich computer it will be !
You can select whatever codec you want, but all Computers in the network should have that codec installed.Since the Image-Seq is used as a proxy, and can’t contain audio, your final QT won’t contain audio either.
2 solutions:
– Use QT-Pro to “add” audio
– Queue Comp1
Set Comp1 to render as Image-Seq + Set Proxy post render
Drag Comp1 into a new comp (Comp2) and add the audio as a second layer.
Queue Comp2 with Use all proxyscya,

One day …..
I think it’s about 4-5 years ago I was as exited as you were,
and I’m still exited, but not expecting super-renders real soon.It finally starts getting somewhere but there’s still a long way ahead for commercial 2D or 3D applications to start using that kind of power.
I bought my first Multi-Processor system in 1997,
Adobe integrated Multi-Processing in CS3 (2007) and they still don’t get it to work decently !!
So how good can they handle GPU-rendering ? (that will need some costly worthless upgrade-paths 😉
The time a faster -or now Multi-core- processor shortened your renderspeed is long gone, your whole system needs to be high-end.To feed a 32-processor system you might need 64GB Ram and a 8-disk-Solid-State-Drive Raid0.
I think 3D software will benefit first of GPU-rendering but AE will only eat as fast as you can feed it… for now.

AVI uncompressed or quicktime None/Animation.
Working on windows, I would choose AVI.
AVI 1080p uncompressed plays realtime on windows, Quicktime 1080p uncompressed won’t (RAID!)
AVI is a native file for windows as QT is native to OSX.You should try the Blackmagic Uncompressed codecs, they are free, fast and tend to show less banding artefacts compared to the animation-codec.

+Nucleo Pro is less memory-hungry then AE-MP and most of the time it renders a little faster (never slower)
+You can ad a comp to the render queue, open another Project and add it to the queue too, while everything is still rendering in the background.
+You can do even light-AE work while rendering.
+I can play “Command&Conquer Generals” while rendering 😉-Nucleo doesn’t use the AE disk-cache as it should, it re-renders unchanged precomps
-When it’s preview rendering you can’t see what it does.In my opinion; it’s a great plugin !
Depending on the project you’re doing, you can always choose between AE-MP and Nucleo rendering.Key features are RAM, Ram, rAM and RAM !!
2GByte Ram/Core is just enough for AE-MP,
2GByte Ram/Core with Nucleo lets you even Photoshop comfortable while renderingcya,

this is more a throughput-thing and not CPU intensive.
The first file in the queue will be picked-up by all computers to render the image-files,
the second file in the queue will be picked up by “one of the computers” and rendered again but since the proxy is now enabled it’s just a conversion from image-sequence to the codec of your choice.
Keywords there are GByte network/ fibre / Raid 😉cya,

Drag your comp to the Render Queue;
in the Output Module (image sequence!) select “Post-Render Action = Set Proxy”Drag The comp to the Render-Queue again;
in Render settings select “Us All Proxies” and choose the codec you want !The first render, all Workstations will render the Image Sequence.
with the second render, 1 system will collect all Images and render a Quicktime.that is …
