There seems to be a lot of knowledgeable folks with experience using this…what are the pro’s and cons? I played around with it a few years back before it was ready for primetime and had all these new prerender features etc…
As i posted earlier i’m looking to build a good setup for HD animation jobs and have mostly been considering using the built in ae multiprocessing capability. IS Nucleo more thorough in it’s use of the multiple processors? Are the pre render and caching features use full? Any drawbacks?
    Thanks

I love it. (I am, however, waiting ANXIOUSLY for the update to CS4…right now, I am without, and it takes quite a bit longer to render out on CS4 compared to CS3 with Nucleo)
While we have the pro version, I rarely use the extra features. I probably should, and I have NO complaints about them, other than I just haven’t implemented all the tools they’ve provided. Excellent software, and certainly looking forward to see how Flow can make my life a little easier as well….

i watched a few of there tutorials this morning and the work flow stuff seems very usefull…It sounds like for the basic program though you get the same preview and render boost that you would get from cs3 rendering on all the cores.

Much, much faster than the standard AE renders. The “render multiple frames” setting really bogs down the computer, whereas Nucleo not only renders in the background, but also renders a ton faster. I haven’t compared CS4 due to a much-awaited update, but from personal experience, it is WELL worth the money. But that is just my opinion….

+Nucleo Pro is less memory-hungry then AE-MP and most of the time it renders a little faster (never slower)
+You can ad a comp to the render queue, open another Project and add it to the queue too, while everything is still rendering in the background.
+You can do even light-AE work while rendering.
+I can play “Command&Conquer Generals” while rendering 😉

-Nucleo doesn’t use the AE disk-cache as it should, it re-renders unchanged precomps
-When it’s preview rendering you can’t see what it does.

In my opinion; it’s a great plugin !
Depending on the project you’re doing, you can always choose between AE-MP and Nucleo rendering.

Key features are RAM, Ram, rAM and RAM !!
    2GByte Ram/Core is just enough for AE-MP,
2GByte Ram/Core with Nucleo lets you even Photoshop comfortable while rendering
